Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 15th, 2012, Jim Tapper, age 71, formerly of Torbay, at the Palliative Care Unit at the Leonard A. Miller Centre. Predeceased by his brother John and parents Nellie Crowe and Walter Tapper Sr. Leaving to mourn with loving memories is his devoted wife Mary (nee Cummings) of 42 years; only child (Dad’s Girl) Renee (Mike Bonnell); precious grandchildren: Thomas and Julia; brother Walter Tapper Jr.; brother-in-law Wayne (Helen, deceased); sisters-in-law: Agnes (Patrick, deceased), Bernadette (Cyril); brother-in-law Frank (Patricia); sister-in-law Anne (Richard, deceased); brother-in-law Jim (Anne, deceased) (Laura); best friend Leo Ryan (Mary, Torbay); close friends: Helena Woods (Torbay), Ron Ryan (Torbay), Jean Leonard (St. John’s) and Jim Brewin (St. John’s); as well as a circle of family and friends. Thank you to Dr. Siddiqui, Dr. Thoms, Dr. Lear, Dr. Eaton and Dr. Collins for their warmth and compassion. Thank you to the staff of 4NA at the Health Science Centre and the Palliative Care Unit at the L.A. Miller Centre. The compassionate care given by all these angels was unbelievable! Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday, June 17 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Monday, June 18 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
