PHILLIPS, EDNA B. - Edna B. Phillips, 93, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at McNair Manor, Moncton. She was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Florence Kent of Pleasant Point, Nova Scotia. Edna was a former employee of La Bonne Nouvelle bookstore and Promotional Secretary of the United Baptist Women’s Missionary Union. She and her first husband, Rev. Blois Crawford served in various Baptist churches throughout Atlantic Canada until his death. Edna was a member of First Baptist Moncton, a member of the Evelyn Eaton Women’s Missionary Society and Fellowship First. She was one of the founding members of the Moncton Community Chaplaincy for Ex Offenders, a former volunteer at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home and a recipient of the Peace award from the YMCA. Edna will be sadly missed by her children, Anne Crawford of Mahone Bay, NS, Jean Phillips (David) of Riverview, Lindsay Crawford (Doris and her daughter Jennifer) of Lower Coverdale and Sara Palmater (Nelson) of Fredericton; she is also survived by her grand children, Matthew (Misty) and Thomas Phillips, Jeremiah Palmater, Virginia and Rebecca Crawford and their mother Ethel Crawford; sisters in law, Zita Kent and Erma Phillips; her nieces and nephews as well as two special cousins, Barbara Baker and Doris Lane. Edna was the last survivor of her family of origin and was predeceased by her first husband, Rev. H. Blois Crawford (1976) and her second husband, Gerald E. Phillips (2010); brothers, Vernon, William and Leslie; sisters, Dora, Vivian, Bertha and Gladys.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service to be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Dr. J. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
