URBAN, Jeannette - It is with deep regret the family of Jeannette Urban of Saskatoon, SK, and formerly of Hazlet, SK, announce her passing after a long hard fight with cancer at St. Paul’s hospital on Sunday, June 10, 2012. Jeannette was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Edmond Urban, her father and mother Gordon and Harriet Gietz, oldest brother Keith as well as sister-in-law Karolyn. Jeannette was a mother of three sons: Gary (Val), Glenn and Dale. Grandmother of five grandchildren: Justin, Ashley, Nathan, Kristopher and Sara. Jeannette enjoyed life to the fullest and was always wanting to participate in family functions such as: camping, fishing, and family events. In the late 70s with her husband and family a cabin was built at Iroquois Lake which was the spot of many good family times. After this Jeannette and Edmond went into business starting and operating a small chain of donut stores for over 16 years. She was a fantastic mom and awesome grandmother who gave freely of her time to everyone. Jeannette loved to garden and was proud to serve food that was produced and cooked on her own. Over the years she did many crafts from knitting, crocheting, stained glass windows, ceramics and far more. “Ma you will be missed.” The family would like to thank the staff at RUH and at St. Paul’s Palliative care unit.
