NEW GLASGOW - Kathleen Doris “Dorey” Burgess - 61,New Glasgow, passed away Saturday June 23, 2012, peacefully surrounded by her family in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Joseph and Celia Ames (Anderson) MacDonald. She was a member of Trenton Church of the Nazarene, Trenton where she enjoyed working in the Junior Church under the leadership of Pastor Doug Herbert. Dorey enjoyed picking berries, knitting, crocheting, Christmas crafts, making quilts, playing cards and making pickles. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Surviving are her children, Donald MacDonald, Kitchener, Ont.; David Burgess, Ottawa; Daniel “Boo” Burgess, Cambridge, Ont.; sister, Jane (Jim) Stewart, Little Harbour; brother, Clyde (Annie) MacDonald, Cambridge; grandchildren, Chris, Elontra, Tia, Andi and Cameron; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Clarence, Elliott, Kimbal, Donnie and Tommy.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Trenton Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Leon Teal officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday in the church. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery with a reception to follow in the church hall.
