Gladys Hoskins

It is with great sadness that the family of Gladys Hoskins announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday June 26, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Samuel on February 18, 1987. She was born in Birmingham, England in 1925 and in 1946 immigrated to Canada as a War Bride with Samuel who served in the Merchant Navy during WWII. Before his passing both Samuel and Gladys enjoyed forty three years of marriage, and together they created a wonderful life while raising six children. Gladys will be sadly missed by her daughters: Pauline (Max) Crossley, Elaine (Wally) Simmons, Kathy (Glen) Norman, sons: John (Barb), Roy (Bernetta), Eric (Lynn), also 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A special thank you to Doctor Griffin and the third floor nursing staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their compassionate care during such a difficult time. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the 2nd floor north and previously Good Samaritan Unit staff at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility for the past five years in which they cared for our Mom. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road on Wednesday June 27, 2012 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday June 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
