SNOW Gertrude Maggie, Shelburne: It is with great sadness that the family announces her passing on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. She was born in Carmanville, NL, on September 6, 1921 to the late Stephen and Bessie (Flynn) Goodyear. She is survived by her sister Joan (Scott) Hicks; daughters, Bonnie (Gordon) Steeves; Brenda (Ronald) Butler; Barbara (Nathaniel) Matthews; grandchildren, Paul (Brandy) Steeves; Wade Matthews; Carol (Jean-Sebastien) Ferland; Kathryn Butler; great-grandchildren, Caleb Varner-Matthews, Logan and Rowan Steeves and Thomas Ferland. Predeceased by her husband Sidney; sisters Ivy Cull and Audrey Buell and granddaughter Kirsten Butler. Gertrude’s life was centered around her family and her church. Gert was a lifetime member of UCW and held various leadership roles in the United Church. She was also involved with the I.O.D.E as Vice-Regent and Past Regent. Funeral service was held on Friday June 29, 2012 in Trinity United Church, Shelburne with Rev. Joanne McFadden officiating. A reception followed in the church hall. Interment will take place on July 5, 2012 at Carmanville, NL at 2:00 p.m. Donations in her memory can be made to Trinity United Church, Shelburne or Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. The family would like to thank Angie Foell, Mary Davis, and her staff at Mary’s Abide-A-While Home for the support they have given the family. We would also like to thank Rev.
