Vance, Lorne “Keith” 72, Bible Hill, passed away at home on Monday, June 25, 2012. Born in Onslow Mountain, November 13, 1939, he was a son of the late Bill Sr. and Ella (Crowe) Vance. In his working years he worked for the Department of Transportation retiring in 1995. After his retirement he worked for Maritime Golf Cars and later for B. H. Small Engine Repair. His hobbies included working on lawn mowers, playing cards and playing his guitar. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Wanda (Wally) Parker; his son Keith Jr. (Brenda Burke); his grandchildren Stephanie Miller, Amanda and Wally Jr. Parker, Austin Blaauendraat-Wheeler, Justin Greencorn, Zackery Vance; his great-grandchildren Summer and Taylor Hunsley, Nicholas Miller-Jobb; brother Bill Jr. of Hammonds Plains; many nieces and nephews and a special friend Wilhelmina Buffet.
Keith was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Taylor); daughter Heather in infancy; sister Shirley Hollingsworth.
Visitation will be Thursday June 28th from 7-9 pm and where funeral service will take place on Friday June 29th at 1:00pm all in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Valerie Kingsbury will officiate with burial to follow in the Watson Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. Donations in Keith’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Fund.
