BOURQUE, Elizabeth Minnie – 80, Arcadia, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born November 10, 1931 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late James and Mannie Louise (Doucette) Hubbard. Minnie worked as a fish processor, having also worked at Cosmos Imperial Mills/Dominion Textiles in Yarmouth, as well as at Nakile Home for Special Care. She was an avid bingo player, she also enjoyed knitting, quilting, flower gardening, playing cards, doing puzzles, and spending time with her cat, Missy. She is survived by her companion, Billy LeBlanc, as well as by her loving children, Arnold (Brenda), Port Medway; Randolph (Linda), Brampton, ON; Ricky (Lenora), Vogler’s Cove; Glenda (Derek), Arcadia; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda, Wedgeport; grandchildren, Franklin, Candy, Tammy, Jason, Nathan, Laura, Jenna, Kristin and Hailey, along with eight great grandchildren, and a brother, James Hubbard, Ontario. She is also survived by step-children, Gary (Jackie), Judy (Greg), Nancy, Don (Sandra), Timmy (Nedra) and their families. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Laurent Bourque; sons, Franklin Boudreau and Clinton Boudreau; brothers, Delbert, Lindsay, Frederick, Paul and Joseph Hubbard; sisters, Edna LeBlanc, Agnes Gaudet and Iva LeBlanc. Visitation took place on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 from Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Wieslaw Papuga officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory of Minnie can be made to Saint Michael’s Parish Cemetery Fund or to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation. The family wishes to express a sincere thanks to the Yarmouth Hospital nursing staff, but especially to Dr. Roland Muise for the care and compassion he showed Minnie throughout her illness.
