Larry Katchuik passed away at 83 on June 24, 2012 at the Willoughby Hospice.

He is survived by his wife Heather, son Rick (Lori) Katchuik, daughter Lenni (Rod) Phillips, two granddaughters Rilyn (Erin) Phillips, and Ashlan Phillips. Five grandsons Kelsey Katchuik, CJ Phillips, Riley Katchuik, Michael Katchuik, and Dawson Phillips.

Larry was a hard working man who had a passion for helping his neighbours, working on his backhoe, and playing poker! He spent many hours with his grandchildren teaching them how to run the backhoe and ride in the gravel truck.

Many summers were spent traveling in "The Magic Bus". Papa was an amazing character who was a large part of his grandchildren, especially the granddaughters as they are the oldest.

We will greatly miss his special sayings like "Unbelievable!", "Hey Boss" and "Squirt". He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 3rd at the Pritchard Hall, 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on-line to a better world.ca in Lacombe in memory of Larry. There will also be a drop box at the service. Dad will be able to keep on excavating foundation for schools and medical clinics in Kenya.
