Peacefully, with family by her side, at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge in Eldon on Friday, June 29, 2012, of Valerie Jean Herring of Murray Harbour, in her 52nd year.
Dear daughter of the late William Stramburg and Irene (Foster) Herring. Beloved sister of Brenda (Bob) Lierschaft, Bill (Bonnie) Herring and David (Linda) Gillis.
Also survived by aunts, Jean (Gordon) Peardon, Fan Selby and Ada Herring; uncles, Hilton (Donna) Herring, Louis (Arlene) Herring; nephew, Christopher (Sarah) Gillis; and great-niece, Hailey Mae Gillis.
Valerie volunteered at Riverview Manor, was an avid bingo player, played card games and spent time doing crafts, painting and hooking rugs. She loved to travel and was very active in the Murray Harbour Community Centre. Valerie also loved to swim, boating and enjoyed the beach. She had a love of sports and watching hockey with her brother.
Resting at Ferguson-Logan Montague Funeral Home from where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment in the Murray Harbour Cemetery. Visitation: Sunday 1-4 p.m.
