Rev. Frederick F. Kitson
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, July 1, 2012, of Reverend Frederick Fenton Kitson, of Argyle Shore, age 81.
Fred was the beloved husband of Reverend Claudia D. (Palmer) Kitson; dear father of Rhonda Broad (Larry), Karen Farintosh (Guy), Deborah Boyne (Tom), Donna Harding (Ed), Kathy MacFarlane (Mike), Marsha Denvir (Brian) and Mark Kitson (Sharlene); and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. He is also survived by his brother, Norris (Eleanor); sisters, Verna Phillips and Audrey MacKenzie (Jack); and sister-in-law, Shirley.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Emma (Cruwys) Kitson; brothers, Calvin and Fulton; sister, Lona Turner (Orville); and brother-in-law, Tommy Phillips.
Fred served as Minister in the United Church of Canada in Nackawic, N.B., Loggieville/Black River Pastoral Charge, N.B., New Richmond, Que., Grafton Castleton, Ont., Napanee, Ont., and Calvary United, Kingston, Ont. Fred was a dedicated Rotarian, an executive member of the Canadian Bible Society and a faithful member of many organizations.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Friday, July 6, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held in Central Queen's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 2 p.m.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Fred's memory to the Canadian Bible Society or the Cavendish Breadalbane Pastoral Charge of the United Church of Canada would be appreciated.
