Melvina LeBlanc
It is with great sadness that the family of Melvina Mary LeBlanc age 82 of Amherst announce her passing on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Gables Lodge, Amherst.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Blair and Matilda (Cormier) Lorette.
In her younger years, Melvina worked at Maritime Pants Factory until it closed.
She moved to Ontario where she worked as a Nurse's Aide for several years before moving back to Amherst and marrying her husband Angus in 1957.
Melvina enjoyed bowling with her husband, playing darts at the Sergeants Mess.
She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Melvina is survived by one daughter Brenda (Bruce) Burke of Amherst, one son Vernon of Moncton, NB, one sister Audrey Lorette of Amherst, two grandsons Jason (Sandra) Burke and Adam Burke and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Angus, three sisters Mildred Kenney, Winnifred Paul and Gladys Smith and seven brothers Clarence, Percy, Herman, Arthur, Ernie, Sonny and Norman.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst. (667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.
Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Memorial donations in Melvina's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the charity of your choice.
