Donald “Donnie” LeRoy Rafuse - 76, of Aldershot, Kings County, passed away suddenly at home Friday, July 6, 2012. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 55 years, E. Rosalie (Crouse), Wolfville Nursing Home. A loving, active father to his two boys, Gary (Charlotte), New Minas; Brian (Kathy), Centreville. A special grandfather to his three grandchildren, Andrew (Patti Neice) Rafuse, Mellisa (Chris) Pulsifer, and Kerrie Rafuse, and great-grandchild, Kailey Pulsifer. He is also survived by a sister, Lorena Rogers, Oromocto, N.B., a brother John, Wolfville Elms, and a sister-in-law, Barbara. He was predeceased by his parents, Morris and Ada (Schofield), sister Ada, brother Gordon, and brother-in-law Garnet Rogers. Donald was employed for 37 years with Cleveland’s Ltd. retiring as a flooring installer. A 36 year veteran of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department, and a former Boy Scout leader, he was a Gilwell Scout. Don was also an active member of Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot, where he was involved with the Board of Trustees and the Men’s Fellowship Group. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Bethany Memorial Baptist Church.
