STIRLING, FREDERICK R. - Frederick Ralph Stirling of Saint John, husband, best friend and soul mate of Lillian M. (Woodland) Stirling, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 23, 1920, he was a son of the late George and Elsie (Chipman) Stirling. Fred owned and operated Stirling Electric for many years, and was also a talented locksmith. In his spare time, Fred was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. In addition to his wife of nearly 60 years, Fred is survived by four sons, George Stirling (Cathy Walton) of Saint John, Gordon Stirling (Kim Buckley) of Willow Grove, Tim Stirling (Darlene Roberts) of Alberta, and David Stirling (Pam Anderson) of Saint John; grandchildren Elizabeth, Curtis, and Christopher Stirling, Tiffany Martin (Jason), Stephanie Stirling, Amanda Prutchick (Mike), Erin and Meagan Stirling, Alexandra Maitre, Kyle Maitre, Brian and Emma Stirling; six great grandchildren; a sister, Heather Rutherford of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by a brother, Malcolm; and by sisters Alice Fullerton and Barbara Harper.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
