(Born July 14, 1942) - From one Great Paradise to another, Gerald peacefully passed away at his favorite place on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Predeceased by loving parents Richard and Ellen Power, sisters-in-law Judy and Philomena, and brother-in-law Richard. Leaving to mourn brothers: Anthony (Genny), Redge (special friend as well as brother), William, Pat (Helena) and Stephen (Betty) and sister Rosemary Williams. Gerald will be forever remembered as “Favorite Uncle” to a large circle of nieces and nephews - Gary, Karen, Kathy, Janet, Tony and Randy; Richard, Willomena and Jimmy; Pamela, Jason, Michael and Krista; Mia, Michelle and Stephen; Sharon, Susan and Richard - each and every one having memories to treasure of times spent with Gerald, everything from the tall tales and riddles to treats when visiting! Special mention of friends in Great Paradise, Little Paradise, South East Bight and Petite Forte.
Gerald had a special genteel way and touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him - his kindness and sense of humour was admired by all and will never be forgotten. While those of us left behind are truly faced with a great loss, we must also remember him in joy and with a smile as that certainly would have been his wish. Cheers to you Gerald and Godspeed.
Resting at Caul's Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road, details to be announced. Given Gerald's special way with children, we humbly request donations to the Children's Wish Foundation in lieu of flowers in his honour. A memory board will be available if you would like to bring along and share a special memory of a special person.
