It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished husband, father, son, brother and friend on July 14, 2012 at the QE11 VG site surrounded by his family.
Born on Oct. 18, 1955 in Barrie, Ont. he was the son of Margaret (MacLellan) Sheppard and the late Frank Sheppard.
He was a graduate of Sydney academy and had a successful 32 year career with Environment Canada until his recent illness. Randy was an avid hockey player and faithful fan of the Boston Bruins but his family always came first. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humour and ability to make people laugh in any situation.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Karen (Fehr); son Christopher (Tabitha) B.C.; daughter Kelly, Halifax; mother Marg, Sydney Forks; sisters Gina, Inverness, Teresa (Eugene) Leighton, Sydney Forks and brother Frank (Barbara) Kingston, Ont.
Randy was predeceased by his father Frank and nephew Scott. In honoring Randy’s wishes there will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday July 20th at 10 a.m., under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lwr Sackville, NS.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice.
