FRENCH, Peter James – 40, of Weymouth, Digby Co., passed away at home on July 14, 2012. Born December 31, 1971 in Brampton, Ontario, he was a son of John and Donna (McEwen) French. Peter loved animals and was always bringing home strays as a child. He loved his dogs, Blue and Baby G, and took them almost everywhere he went. He loved the outdoors, fishing on the wharf close to his home and going on his four-wheeler. He loved the ocean, walking on the beach and collecting shells and rocks. Peter enjoyed collecting antique gadgets and anything that had historical value. He enjoyed giving such items to family and friends who he thought would appreciate the history of the item. He was especially fond of elderly people. Peter lived and worked in the Weymouth Community for most of his life, doing carpentry and flooring work. He was especially known for his attention to detail when it came to drywall and painting. He was a generous and kind hearted person with an easy smile who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will live on in our hearts. Besides his parents, he is survived by daughter, Maya, Newfoundland; brothers, Timothy (Rossie) French, Weymouth; Stephen (Michelle) French, Yarmouth; niece, Rachel French; nephew, Justin French; as well as the mother of his beautiful daughter, Roseanne Barry. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Don and Olive McEwen; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Leticia French. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. A public graveside burial will be held Sunday, July 22 at 3 p.m. at the New Road Cemetery in Weymouth.
