Dad took a fall on June 21 at Trail Bay Mall where he enjoyed going for coffee and people watching. 
He had cancer and was quite fragile physically. The fall was what ultimately took his life two days later.
Special thanks to the staff at Claytons and members of the public who rushed to help. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s E/R, in particular Simon, Colin and Laura. Also many thanks to the hospice nurses at Shorncliffe, in particular Marie, and Alison.
Dad was born in Saskatchewan, and came to BC in 1947. He spent the better part of his life in the Fort St. John area, working as a “Cat skinner” and then moved to Cloverdale in 2007 to get out of the cold winters. In the last ten days before he fell, he was in Halfmoon Bay being cared for by his daughter, Shelley.
We will always remember the many kindnesses shown to him in this community. ~ John and Shelley Jankola
