World War II Veteran, Royal Navy. Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, on July 16th, 2012, Hector Mercer. Age 93 years. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Catherine; his wife Sarah; brother William and sister Marjorie. Leaving to mourn his children: Marcella (Vic), Wallace (Cathy), Marjorie (Bruce Deceased) and Melvin (Pauline); 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 19th, 2012, from Barrett’s Chapel. Interment to follow at the Field of Honour, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
