HORGAN, JEROME - With sadness the family announce the passing of Jerome John Horgan, loving husband of over 60 years to Rose (Melanson) Horgan, which occurred on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John in 1927, he was the son of the late Luke and Mary (Sweeney) Horgan. Jerome was employed with CN Rail for 41 years until his retirement and was a member of the CN Pensioners Association. He was a man who loved talking to people and enjoyed sharing memories and stories. Jerome was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, garden and travel. In addition to his wife Rose, he is survived by his son Michael L. Horgan (Krista Downs) and daughter Elizabeth Horgan (Andrew Cusack) both of Saint John; sisters Florence Sullivan (Saint John) and Marie Crawford (Toronto); grandchildren Katie Horgan, Luke and Rose Cusack; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Wilbur and Joseph and a sister Geraldine Higgins.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the H.O.P.E.
