Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, Catherine 'Katie' Clarke of Carbonear, age 80 years. Predeceased by infant daughter: Holly; parents: John and Dinah Skeard; seven brothers and three sisters. Left to mourn, husband: John S.; three daughters: Gloria (Keith), Carbonear, June, Edmonton, AB and Catherine (Darrell), Carbonear; one son: John N. (Gertie), Carbonear; seven grandchildren: Mark (Judy), Holly (Michael), Jennifer, Mitchell, Nicole, Matthew and Michael; one great-grandchild: Max; one sister: Rhoda Laforme, Mississauga, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Brian Colbourne conducted the funeral service on July 20 at Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment took place in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. Donations in her memory may be made to Bethany United Church, Carbonear or to the Alzheimer’s Society of NL.
