ALCORN, DEBORAH "DEBBIE" ELIZABETH -
ELIZABETH - 1958-2012 - Deborah "Debbie" Elizabeth Alcorn, 54, of Hillsborough went to be with her Lord & Savior on July 20th, 2012. She passed away at the Dr. Georges L- Dumont Hospital with her loving family by her side. Debbie was born in Fredericton on April 12th, 1958 the daughter of the late Ernest Verrill and Donna (Percy) (Verrill) Maston. She worked at the Charlotte County Credit Union as a Customer Service Representative when she lived in Blacks Harbour. She when she lived in the area. She was a member of the Valley Baptist Church and has been involved with many churches over the years. She has been a big part of many WMS Groups, taught Sunday School and always involved in the Children's Ministries such as Daily Vacation Bible Schools. Her main job was being a preacher's wife and mother which she took very seriously, always being there for all her children who needed her. She had a personality that made people feel comfortable and at ease, God definitely was working through her in the ministry. Her faith was strong and she would want to send the message to everyone to let God into your heart and know he sent Jesus his Son so we could all have everlasting life, do not grieve for me as I am with my Precious Lord. She will be deeply missed by her mother and step-father, Donna and Phil Maston of Saint John; her devoted and caring husband, Rev. C. Bruce Alcorn of Hillsborough; cherished daughters, Sheerah Nickerson (Scott) of Riverview, Rachel Alcorn (Fiancé Randall Stoddard) of Hillsborough; cherished sons, Nathan Alcorn of Blacks Harbor and David Alcorn (Erika) of Moncton; her treasured grandchildren, Eva and Liam; brothers, Barry Verrill (Sheelagh) of Seattle, Washington, USA, Reade Maston (Sally) of Summerside, PEI; sister, April Sharpe (Allan) of Saint John; her step brothers, Brad Maston of Saint John and Danny Maston of Fredericton. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and by all of the Alcorn family and her extended church families. Debbie was so looking forward to the arrival of her two newest grandchildren and we will keep her memory alive with all the great stories of grammie and tell them what a wonderful woman she really was. Her presence will also be felt at the wedding of her youngest daughter, Rachel as she was so looking forward to this celebration.
She will be resting at the Valley Baptist Church with visitation on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Valley Baptist Church on Monday, July 23rd, 2012 at 2:30pm with Rev. Phillip Penny and Rev. Mark Leary officiating. Interment will be held in the Jemseg Cemetery, Jemseg, NB at 10:00 a.m. Donations to the Ovarian Cancer Canada or to the Valley Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
