Cavanaugh, Darren Glen – 47, of Bible Hill passed away July 20, 2012 at Colchester Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Born in Truro, he was a son of Louise (Marshall) Cavanaugh, Portapique and the late Reginald “Reg” Cavanaugh. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carolyn McNeil-Cavanaugh, son, Adam Cavanaugh, Bible Hill, twin daughters Kierstin and Kayla Cavanaugh, both at home; stepsons, Justin and Dylan McNeil, Toronto; sister, Janice Cavanaugh, Bible Hill; brother, Terry Cavanaugh, Thunder Bay, Ont; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Shelly Milligan and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Darren worked his entire career in construction and in the last several years owned and operated Darren Cavanaugh Contracting where many of Darren's customers became life long friends. In Darren's short life he touched many hearts, always putting others needs before his own. Darren treasured time spent with his children, weekends at the cottage, four wheeling with friends and morning coffee with the guys. Darren will be sadly missed and always remembered as a respected contractor and an honest caring family man.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24 from 7-9 pm; funeral service on Wednesday, July 25th at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Kym Burke-Cole officiating. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery. Family flowers only. In keeping with Darren’s kind-hearted spirit, donations may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Homeless Shelter Fund.
