It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Kurtlyn Hebert, 70, of Glace Bay. Kurt passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Scotchtown, Kurt was the son of the late Luke and Mary (Jacobi) Hebert-Larade.
At an early age of 16 years, Kurt moved to Ontario to seek employment. He worked as a mechanic and returned to Glace Bay in 1991. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed watching sports on television, especially, golf. Kurt was an honorary member of Branch #3 Legion. You would find him at Tim Hortons in the mornings having a coffee and chatting with the boys.
Kurt will be sadly missed by the love of his life for 33 years, Joyce (Nicholson); daughters, Margaret (William) Thomson, Glace Bay, Beverley Burke (Crazy Dave) Tarzwell, Maggie (Bert) James, Holly (Jerry Cannon), Linda Callahan; son, John Burke (Liezel), all of Ontario; sister, Sylvia ‘Powie’ Scott, Glace Bay and his six cherished grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Kurt was predeceased by two brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
In honoring Kurt’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
