It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert McDermid on July 26th, 2012 after a long, lengthy illness.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Cheryl McDermid (Whaley) and his children Tracy (Darren) and Jeff, as well as his grandchildren Dustin, D'Artagnan, Brianna, Shyla, Haylee and Sidnee. Also surviving him are his brother Neil (Cheryl) and sister Lorie, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Isabelle, and his brother Don.

He will be missed by many friends and family. Born in Cranbrook, BC, Robert made his home in many provinces over the years with the Department of National Defense. He retired in 1991 and made his final home in Kamloops, BC.

The Family would like to wish many thanks to Dr. Loland, Dr. Langford, the Kamloops Hospice Association and all the nurses who cared for him during his lengthy illness at home and hospital.

There will be no funeral by request.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Lung Foundation in Robert's name.
