SHRED, CONSTANCE "CONNIE" - 1931 - 2012 - It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of our Mum Constance "Connie" Shred, age 80, of Cape Tormentine. Connie passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Connie was born in Cape Tormentine at her home, daughter of the late Edgar and Vonnie (Allen) Cormier. She was employed with Eaton's in Ontario and a full time mother of four. She had a great love of birds, shopping and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed picking berries when in season and was a great lover of chocolate and sweets. She will be dearly missed by four daughters, Shelly Wiens (Dennis), Victoria, BC, Cindy Cardinal (Doug), Cape Tormentine, Patricia Sweeney, Malden, Stephanie Shred-Steeves (Greg), Cape Traverse, PEI; six grandchildren, a great grandson; sister Annabelle (Frank) Powell, Saint John, NB; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen and brother Hampton Cormier.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (506-538-2241). Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm from the Cape Tormentine United Church. The funeral will be held at the church on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11 am, William Drysdale DLM officiating. Committal service will take place at the Fernwood Cemetery immediately following the reception.
