Betty Carolyn (Keddy) Menzies, age 73 of Springhill, passed away suddenly on Sunday July 29, 2012 at her residence. Born in Springhill, on September 27, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Eileen Francis (Fenton) Keddy.
Betty spent her first 8 years living in Wyvern where she held many fond memories. She enjoyed, watching Blue Jays Baseball; listening to her music; talking to her friends on the telephone; her daily walks to town and the chats with the people she encountered on the way. She loved children and always had treats for her special "little friends" and she especially enjoyed her VON girls.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Cindy Bourgeois (David Henry) and Charlene Roger (Dave Roode) both of Springhill and Jeannie McCully (Billy Leblanc) of Amherst; her only son Timothy Gibbons; grandchildren, John, Jason, Justin Jeremy, Amy Beth, Morgan; ten great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Annette, Kim, Tanya, Harold "Porky" and David.
She was predeceased by a brother Harold Keddy and her grandson Joshua Carmicheal.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361). A Celebration of Betty's life will be held from the Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 2, 2012 with Captain Chad Ingram officiating. Burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
