On August 1, 2012 Mr. Hamilton Read Chester passed away peacefully in his home in Kamloops, B.C. just short of his 86th Birthday.

He is survived by his two loving children, Doug Chester and Wendy McKenzie of Kamloops, B.C., as well as his two granddaughters Miranda Schulz (Jonathan) and Tracy McKenzie and his two great granddaughters, Mikaela and Megan Schulz and his sister Beth McCutcheon.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Marjorie Chester as well as brothers Goldwyn and Gerald and sister Elva.

Hammy was proud of his service with the Canadian Forces, followed by a thirty year career with the Provincial Department of Highways as a crusher foreman.

In Celebration of Hammy's life a Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery.

The service will be officiated by The Reverend Isabel Healy-Morrow. Following the service friends are welcome to join the family for refreshments at the Kamloops Legion Branch # 52 (425 Lansdowne Street).

In honor of his love for animals, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Kamloops SPCA, 1211 - 8th Street, Kamloops, B.C. V2B 2Y3 or your local SPCA.
