It is with deep sadness that, we the family, announce the sudden passing of Ronald James MacNeil on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012.
Born in Sydney, Ronald was the son of the late John and Margaret (MacDonald) MacNeil.
Ronald retired from Yazer men’s clothing store with over 25 years of service.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Jessie (Peck); sons, Blaire (Christina), Edmonton, Blaine (Adele), Halifax; his four sisters, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ MacKinnon, Sydney Forks, Florence Neville, Sydney, Theresa Kennedy, North Quincy, Massachusetts, Olga Knowles, Wheaton, Maryland. The pride and joy of his life, his three grandchildren, Adam (Megan), Blaine (Kim) and Dalton and great-granddaughter Charleigh.
Ronald was predeceased by sisters, Mary MacNeil, Jessie Morrison and Rita MacLennan, and brothers, Michael, John and Michael Joseph.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held in Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Donald MacGillivray officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
