Ann Mae (Rankine) MacPhee

MacPhee, Ann Mae (Rankine) 94, of Truro passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born October 18, 1917 in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Louisa Rankine. Ann taught school for 28 years, primarily in Halifax and Truro, retiring from Alice Street School in the 1970s.
She is survived by her children – David (Wendy), Debert, N.S.; Robert (Carol), Sarasota, Florida; and, Barbara Dyck (Lloyd), Waterville, N.S. – as well as six grand children, twelve great grand children; sister, Dorothy Phoenix and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Harvey William Burton MacPhee; brother, Dr. James Rankine; sisters, Jean Wyman and Nellie, in infancy.
Visitation will take place from 10am followed by funeral service at 11 am, Thursday, August 9th in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Donald MacQueen officiating with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will follow the reception in Fairview Cemetery Halifax.
