Florence L. Simpson, 87, (nee MacDonald) passed away on June 24, 2012, peacefully at her home in Staten Island, N.Y., after a long struggle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Alec Carstairs Simpson. Loving mother of Doreen Sark (Charles), Jean Lange (Edward), Daniel and Alex (Denise). Cherished grandmother of Sarah and Charlie Greg Sark, Maryah MacDonald and Kelly Hawkins. Great-grandmother of Elsie and Meg Sark-Summers and Allanah and Sabrina MacDonald-Katz. Dear sister to D. Alec, Bennett (Marie) and Allan (Leona) MacDonald. Preleased by four sisters, Mary, Jean, Marjorie and Margaret; and two brothers, Ronald and Hubert. She is survived by many well-loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a mass for the repose of the soul of Florence on Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, Summerside. A memorial/reception will follow in the parish centre.
