BENEDICT, Raymond H. - 74, of New Minas, passed away on Saturday August 4, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Highfield, NS; he was a son of the late Harold and Winnifred (Fader) Benedict. Raymond was a spiritual man with a strong faith. He loved to play music, particularly bluegrass. He was a versatile musician who could play many instruments. He loved to entertain and was the life of the party. Raymond will be missed by those who knew him. Raymond is survived by his loving companion Shirley Walsh; sons, Raymond “Wayde” (Sylvia), Toronto, ON; Ron (Susan), Midland, ON; daughters Linda (Scott) Upham, Perkinsfield, ON; Donna (Steve) Maw, Barrie, ON; brothers Ron, Keswick, ON; Arnold; Stanley, Middleton; Ken, Oklahoma, Okla; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Raymond was predeceased by his brother Harley and his sisters Arlene Fader and Madeline McClair. There will be no service at his request.
