As an veteran of the Second World War, he served in the Canadian Army with the Provost Corp from 1942 until his discharge in 1946.
He was employed as a manager of meat cutting departments at several Sydney establishments.
Reg kept busy all is life, was a master of many trades, but his all consuming passion was putting new life into old cars and getting them “back on the road,” which he happily did even well into his 90s.
Reg was a gentleman. A man who asked so little for himself, his greatest pleasure was giving to his family who loved him dearly.
He was a longtime member of First United Church, Sydney.
Reg looked forward to spending his summers relaxing, camping in Ingonish and later at his trailer in Wreck Cove on the North Shore.
