WALTER FERGUSON
Lieu de naissance : Ashcroft, Colombie Britannique, Canada
Date de naissance : 19 février 1923
Lieu de décès : Kamloops, Colombie Britannique, Canada
Date de décès : 6 août 2012
Walter passed away peacefully at Ponderosa Lodge at age of 89 years.
Born in Ashcroft, B.C., he was the youngest child of Ed and Jane Ferguson (Morgan). Walter was the last member of one of the original ranching families of the Bonaparte Valley, first living at 17 Mile then later moved to 16 Mile with his mother and siblings. He then married and moved to Upper Hat Creek and bought the old Bob Tate place, worked ranching and at the Savona mill. Walter then moved his family to Walhachin in 1974 where he lived his remaining years.
Walter was a gold mine of historic information that many enjoyed hearing his stories about the old days. Walter was also known for his unique abilities with animals, particularly old remedies and was sought out for his knowledge by many.
Walter is survived by his daughter Kelsey Bernard (Ferguson) and his kitty Panther, extended family and his many friends and special neighbour Val Carey.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, nephews Wesley Cole and Norm Walker, as well as all his neighbours and friends that were there for him.
Service to be held in Ashcroft at Thompson Valley Funeral Home, 100 Ashcroft-Cache Creek Hwy. on Monday August 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with tea to follow.
