KILLAM, Charles Willard - 85 , of the Villa St Joseph du Lac in Dayton, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away August 15, 2012 at the Villa St Joseph du Lac. Born July 11, 1927 in Overton Yarmouth County, he was the son of the late J Whitman Killam and Fannie Killam. Charles was a member of the Faith Memorial Baptist Church and member of the Yarmouth Model Plane Flying Club. He worked at Rodd Grand Hotel toward the end of his career. Charles loved to tinker with everything and was a self taught handyman. He is survived by brother in laws, Warren (Pat) Whitehouse, N.B.; Gordon (Doris) Whitehouse; sister in law, Cora Whitehouse, Yarmouth;cousin, Esther Fevens; caretaker and family friend, Karen Churchill and Gary Hinckley, Overton. He is predeceased by his wife Thelma Faye; stepson, Terry Whitehouse; brother in laws, Ansel Whitehouse; John”Obbie” (Marion) Whitehouse; sister in law, Lavina Hubley (Griffin). Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service was held Friday, August 17 at 3:00 p.m. from Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Overton, Rev. Ron Clark officiated. Interment followed in Chegoggin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Alzheimer’s Society.
