FITZGERALD-DENNIS, Mary Ellen – 61, of Waterloo, Ont. and formerly of Yarmouth, passed away August 25, 2012 in University Hospital in London, Ont. Born November 8, 1950 in the Annapolis Valley, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Mildred (DeEll) Jordan. Mary had previously worked as a Registered Practical Nurse. She was a newlywed for the past four months, married to Larry Dennis. She was also a born again Christian, and was a member of Lincoln Road Bible Chapel in Waterloo, Ont. as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch No. 61 in Yarmouth. She is survived by husband, Larry; sons, Archie Goodwin, Waterloo, Ont.; Gilbert Goodwin (Cindy Bennett), Sydney; stepdaughters, Laura, Connie and Trudy, all of Waterloo, Ont.; brothers, Lindsay (Lori), Timmins, Ont.; Gilbert (Charlotte), Oshawa, Ont.; Myles (Judy), Sussex, NB; sisters, Margaret (Eric) Best, Morristown; Lillian (Skip) Huntley, Kentville; sister-in-law, Tiny Jordan, Waterville; as well as survived by ten grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by first husband, David “Butch” Goodwin; second husband, Marty Coppes; third husband, Joseph Fitzgerald; brother, Henry; sister, Rochelle Gray. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Thursday, August 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion Br. 61 Ladies Auxiliary service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service was held Friday, August 31 at 10 a.m., Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Both took place in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, 567 Main Street in Yarmouth. Interment followed in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Family flowers only, please.
