It is with heartfelt sorrow we say goodbye to our sister. Shirley was the daughter of the late Donald and Alice (Butts) Jardine.
Shirley was happily married to Peter Laffin for 53 years. They had two sons and a daughter. Shirley worked in the medical profession in the London hospitals until her retirement.
Shirley may have left Cape Breton at an early age, but you couldn’t take the Cape Bretoner out of her. She loved to come home. A good card game, laugh, and hanging with her family made her day. She dearly loved Millville, where she went to school. She will be missed by her family and friends here in Cape Breton.
She is survived by her six brothers and seven sisters, Gerald and Marg Butts, Al and Alice Jardine, Gord and Patti Jardine, Bud and Emily Jardine, Elsie and Paul Miazga, Colleen MacIntyre, Lawrence and Barb Jardine, Marilyn Carey, Lloyd and Shirley Jardine, Judy and Art Sampson, Donna and Ken Eveliegh, Bev and Al Arnold and Patsy and Eric Jessome.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Peter, and a sister, Bernice.
Funeral services took place in Ontario.
