88, Hamilton, Ontario, and formerly of Belmont and P.E.I., passed away peacefully on January 13, 2010, at The Village of Wentworth Heights in Hamilton, Ontario.
Born in Bayview, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Earle and Annie (Robinson) Simpson. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Della Cooke; and sister, Hazel Buell. He is survived by his loving daughter, Carol Robertson and son-in-law and best friend, Chris, Stoney Creek, Ont.; beloved grandson, James, North Bay, Ont.; brothers, Donald, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; Harold and Preston of North Rustico, P.E.I; sisters, Nellie Shea, Springhill, N.S.; Clemmie Campbell (Louis), Kensington, P.E.I.; Vivian Hiscott (Vernon), North Rustico, P.E.I; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eric will be remembered by family, friends and neighbours for his strength, humility, work ethic and sense of humour.
Visitation will take place Friday, January 15, 7–9 p.m., and funeral on Saturday, January 16, at 11 a.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, Nova Scotia. Interment at a later date in Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester, N.S.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation (www.jccfoundation.on.ca) in Hamilton, Ont., would be appreciated.
