Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family, on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at his home in Logy Bay, NL, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer. He was 86 years old. Waiting to greet him in heaven are his wife Margaret (Brocklehurst), son Ted, daughter Edwina Power, grandson Paul Ozon, parents Louis and Beatrice Ozon, brother Robert, brother-in-law Frank Taaffe. Leaving to mourn, long time companion and special friend, Emily Hepburn; sister Laura (Ozon) Taaffe ; brothers: Joe (Marg Delaney) and Eugene (Jane Chaffey); sister-in-law Marie (Collier) Ozon; children: Paul (Pat Foster), Anne Delahunty (Ed), Bob (Stella Doyle), Sheila (Gord Mundy), Cecilia (Len Wells), Audrey, John (Sharon Kendall), Gene, Joan Veitch, Gail Collins (Cyril), Mike (Christina Boland), Lynn Fewer (Barry); daughter-in-law Bev Devereaux; son-in-law Bill Power; former son-in-law Philip Veitch; 28 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. We, the family, would like to thank Dr. Patrick O’Shea for his exemplary care of the family over the past 20 years, especially during the last several months and Bertha Tucker, community health nurse. Heartfelt thanks also to home care workers, Cathy Chafe and Karen Legge, Dr. Alex Power, Monsignor Dennis Walsh, Fr. Fred Brown, and bereavement team of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Outer Cove, especially Kay Fewer and Helen Feehan. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home in Torbay. Visitation on Saturday from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Outer Cove on Monday, September 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow funeral (and burial) at the Justina Centre in Outer Cove to celebrate Ted’s life.
