Dunville, NL. Passed peacefully away at Placentia Health Centre on September 8, 2012, with his loving family by his side, age 78 years. Predeceased by his parents Selby and Elizabeth, sister, Mary, sister-in-law, Theresa Thorne, and brother-in-law, Lionel Perchard. Leaving behind with cherished memories, his wife of 55 years, June, his children, Rick (Sheila) and Wanda (Willie Brewer); his grandchildren, Tim (Susan), Scott, William and Alexa and great-grandson, Simon - the greatest joy of his life, all of whom he was so proud; his brothers, Ron (Louise), Bill (Grace) and Walter (Tish); his nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart; other relatives and a large circle of friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia, Sunday 7-9 p.m., Monday 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday opening at 10 a.m. Funeral service will take place at Grace United Church, Dunville, on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House, St. John's, NL.
