Brightman, Joan Elizabeth – 71, Truro passed away September 12, 2012 surrounded by loved ones and family. Born in Maitland, she was a daughter of the late Dot and Henry Lively of South Maitland. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Britten (Brightman), Dartmouth; sons, Darryl Brightman, Barrie, Ont., Carl Brightman, Ottawa,; sisters, Mae Cook, Brookfield, Edith Dixon (Jamie), Latties Brook, Ethel (Wayne) Waller, South Maitland; brothers, Grant (Judy) Lively, Maitland, Murray (Judy) Lively, Mississauga, Ont.; grandsons, Cody Wright, Truro, Luke and Caden Brightman, Barrie, Ont.; chosen granddaughter, Shelby MacPhee; many nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by granddaughter dog, Moushka, Dartmouth. She loved them all. Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 15 from 7-9 pm; memorial service on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 2 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment in South Maitland United Church Cemetery. Following the interment a reception will be held at the home of Grant and Judy Lively, 8960 Highway 215, Maitland.
