Gordon Mervyn Makin
At Prince County Hospital on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 of Gordon Mervyn Makin of O'Leary, age 71, beloved husband of Beverly (MacGregor-Boates).
Born in Montreal on August 2, 1941, he is the son of Marjorie (Hopper) Makin and the late Stanley Makin. Dear father to Mark (Joanne), Halifax; Wendy (Bob) Peters, North Granville; Chris, Bedeque; Linda (Kent) Kidwell, Colorado; Stanley (Ethel), Summerside; Bruce, Utah; Kilmeny Boates, O'Leary; and David (Cindy), Harrington. Loving grandfather to 24 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his father; sister, Linda (Les); and a grandson in infancy.
Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O'Leary, with visiting hours Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the O'Leary United Church. Interment will follow in the Lower Bedeque Cemetery.
In memory of Gordon, memorials to the Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Association or O'Leary United Church would be appreciated.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2, O'Leary, will hold a memorial service for their late comrade Saturday at 6:45 p.m.
Brethren of the Corinthian Lodge #19 will hold a masonic service for their late brother on Saturday evening following visiting hours at 9 p.m. www.fergusonsfh.com
