RODGERSON, DORIS M. – The family announce the passing of Doris Mildred (Alcorn) Rodgerson of West Saint John, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 13th, 2012. Born in Alma, Albert Co. in February, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Morley and Edith (McCormick) Alcorn. Doris was a homemaker and she enjoyed sports. Doris is survived by her son Ross Dowe (Laura) of Saint John; daughter Ellen Marks (Gary) of Saint John; brothers Carleton Alcorn (Antoinette) of Halifax, Robert Alcorn (Connie) of Woodstock; sister Greta Dixon of Fredericton; brother-in-law Willard “Peter” Rodgersonand family of Saint John; grandchildren Wanda Richard, Heather Cole (Kevin), Gregory Marks (Nicole), Larry Dowe (Jeannette), Rob Dowe (Shelley) and Geoff Dowe (Natasha); great grandchildren Jeffrey, Jocelyn, Kaitlin, Jessica, Sarah Jayne, Jaymie, Ryan, Tyler, Devyn, Karen-Ellen, Ashley, Bailey, Rieley, Kaitlyn, and Alyssa; great-great grandchildren Kylie, Mariah, Alyssa, and Jade as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Gerald Lewis Rodgerson and brother Kenneth Alcorn (Thelma).
A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Sunday, September 16th at 3 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
