Isabel May Greene, age 95 of Thomsen Road, Walkerville, passed away September 14, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born at Rogers Hill Center, NS, she was a daughter of the late Charles Smith and Ada (Bell) MacLennan.
Isabel had been a resident of Walkerville since 1987 prior to which she had lived in New Glasgow and Green’s Brook. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, a member of the AMS Allan Pollock and a member of the church choir. She was a member of the Sunlight Rebekah Lodge, East River St. Mary’s. Isabel was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by children: Bob (Betty), North River; Lloyd (Janet), French Lake, NB; Marie (Ron) MacDonald, New Glasgow; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Dan Robert, granddaughter Katherine Suzanne MacDonald, brothers: Arthur, Fisher, Westland, Lawrence, Ira and Lloyd.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall with burial in Green’s Brook Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to Green’s Brook Cemetery, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
