Gerald Charles Thompson
Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit, of the Prince Edward Home, on Thursday, September 20, 2012, of Gerald “Jerry” Thompson of Stratford, age 69 years.
Loving father of Steven (Erika), Jenn (Jeff MacDonald), and dear grandfather to Marieka and Amelia Thompson. He will also be missed by Steve and Jenn’s Mom and Step-dad, Val and Blair MacKinnon. Jerry is survived by brother Graham; sister Linda; sister-in-law, Jeanette Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Anne, and brothers Jack and Irwin “Tike”.
Jerry was born in Pictou, N.S., but lived most of his adult life in P.E.I., which he liked to call home. For many years, he worked as a successful Realtor at Century 21/Colonial Realty and will be missed by all who knew him.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2-4 p.m. only. A memorial service will be held at Stratford Chapel, Hillsboro Funeral Home on Monday, September 24 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Hospice Palliative Care Association of P.E.I. or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
