Evelyn Marie Amirault

Amirault, Evelyn Marie - 86 of Parkland Estates Retirement Residence, Truro, passed away peacefully September 19, 2012 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mark and Irene Amiro and loving wife of the late Charles Theodore “Ted” Amirault. Evelyn was a loving mother to Eric, Peter (Debbi), Tony (Betty), Norman (Tania), Anne (Jim) and David (Ana). Danielle, Denise, Nicole, Emily, Clare, Lauren and Carmela loved visits with their Grammy and her ginger snaps! She was also very close to her brothers Nelson (Irene-deceased) and the late Gilbert Amiro (Geraldine); sisters-in-law, Cecile (Pierre-deceased), Sister Irene and Sister Marie (deceased); many nieces and nephews. Evelyn will be remembered for her steadfast support of her children, her generosity of time and spirit, caring nature, and initiative, working tirelessly in the gift and coffee shops with the Colchester Regional Hospital Auxiliary, the Catholic Women’s League (CWL), and the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Truro, where she was a long standing member. Having lived on Fairview Drive for over 40 years she enjoyed the support of many wonderful neighbours, and special thanks to her dear friends Marilyn and Dale Ells, Denise and Bill Hanlon, and Shirley and Randy Skidmore who supported her throughout much of her adult life and in particular during the last few years. We acknowledge the special place Anne Hennessey (deceased), Evelyn’s caring next door neighbour at the Parkland Estates Retirement Residence, had in her heart and are indebted to the wonderful staff there for the care and support provided. You truly went above and beyond! Sincere appreciation as well to the nursing staff on the 3rd and 4th floor of the Colchester Regional Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, where family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with prayers at 7 pm.
