Mrs. Darlene Elsaesser, age 70, beloved wife of Mr. Doug Elsaesser of the Winton district, RM of Birch Hills passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Prince Albert, SK. She was born on March 10, 1942 in Rose Valley, SK. Darlene is survived by her loving family: her husband Doug; her daughter Terry (Calvin) Scriven and their children Josh and Ashlyn of Weirdale; her son Troy (Sandy) Elsaesser and their children Colton, Megan, Ethan and Hayden of Birch Hills; her brothers Dennis (Jean) Halvorson of Langley, BC and Aldon (Judith) Halvorson of Surrey, BC; her two sisters-in-law Dawne Banda of Saskatoon and Sandra Elsaesser of Birch Hills as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Saskatchewan and BC. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Ester Halvorson; her parents-in-law Armin and Winifred “Pat” Elsaesser; her brother Boyd Halvorson; her sister Lena Ulrich; her brother-in-law Collin Elsaesser and her nephew Kevin Elsaesser. Darlene and Doug were married in 1963 in Birch Hills, SK. She managed the Golf Course in Birch Hills for over 10 years. She will be forever remembered by all for her many talents in the kitchen and the smell of fresh bread and cinnamon buns that always invited you into her presence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24 from the Lake Park Baptist Church. Reverend Matt Teigrob will officiate. A private family interment of cremated remains will follow in the Winton Cemetery. It is the family’s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Lake Park Baptist Church.
