Ida May Olender, New Glasgow:
It is with great sadness the family of Ida May Olender announce her passing, September 27, 2012, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, at age 89.
Born on May 27, 1923, married Tony Olender in Kitchener, Ontario and moved to New Glasgow in 1958 where she raised her family. She always gladly had an extra plate or blanket for anyone that followed us home. She had many friends that would visit often, and she loved to garden.
She is survived by her children: Judy Ebenhoeh, Kitchener, ON; Ruth Ann (Cyril) Fraser, Hopewell; Carl (Georgene) Olender, Windsor, ON; Brad (Tanya) Olender, Truro; Tony (Karen) Olender, Hopewell; Rob (Judy) Olender, Glengarry; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
She was predeceased by her husband Tony Olender and brother Gordon.
Ida’s children will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at on 2 pm in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the VON, Heart and stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetic Association, Valley View Villa or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
