It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Kenneth ‘Booper’ McNeil, 32, of Glace Bay. Kenny passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012.
Born in Glace Bay, Kenny was the son of Kenny and the late Cordella (Evely) McNeil.
Kenny was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed looking out the window watching everything that came his way. Playing with the newspaper was another pastime of his. Kenny’s long car drives was a highlight of his day and he looked forward to them.
Kenny will be sadly missed by his loving father, Kenny (Wanda Dawe); sisters, Tanya (Ernie) Bagnell, Glace Bay, Caroline (John ‘Mingy’) Penney, Glace Bay; nephews, Marcus, Gage, Brandon; nieces, Jayden and Brooklyn. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his mother, Kenny was predeceased by his nephew, Jonathan Kenneth McNeil, maternal grandparents, Mary and George Evely, paternal grandparents, Caroline and John Angus McNeil.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday at Warden United Church, Glace Bay, with Rev. Clayton Austin officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church hall.
