Passed peacefully away in Greenport, NY, at the age of 88, on May 9, 2012, Sally (Greene) Catania, formerly of Point Verde, NL. Sally was the daughter of John and Agnes Green of Point Verde, both of whom had passed away by the time she was six years old. She was raised by her sister Carmel Greene (later the wife of Cyril Collins of Bond’s Path, Placentia). Sally was predeceased also by her husband Michael Catania and by all her siblings: Carmel Collins of Bond’s Path, Placentia; Mary McManus of St. John’s, Michael Greene of the U.S., Peter Greene of Scotland and Genevieve (Jeanne) Kosciusko of Florida. Sally leaves to mourn her daughters Mary and Bernadette and her son Michael, all of New York, and their families. Also, many other relatives and friends, nieces and nephews, especially Mary (Collins) Walsh of Torbay, Doris (Collins) Scott of Upper Gullies and Tom Collins of Bond’s Path, Placentia and their families. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to O.B. Davis Funeral Homes of Jefferson Station, NY. A Mass will be celebrated in her memory on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Placentia. All are welcome to attend.
